This Palindrome Square is one of my favorites for protection. I place it on the backs of all the mirrors in the house, all 4 sills of the doors & windows, in our vehicles, in my purse. Basically everywhere.
Ok, let's backup a bit and give quickie lesson on the SATOR Square.
A Palindrome is a word or group of words that
can be read forward or backward. In magickal workings they are quite often
worked into Magick Squares such as the SATOR Square which is considered to be
the most powerful of the palindrome charms.
These squares are all found
in The Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage, Book III (translated by S.L.
MacGregor Mathers) along with their definitions. In some texts I’ve found there
to be various definitions of the words, but the use and purpose of each was
always the same. There are 242 squares in the above mentioned book, each with a
purpose, some good, some not so good, some that are rather odd and some that
are downright mean. So if you’re interested in working with these squares, read
Abramelin’s book(s) (which can be found in public domain and so are free
on the internet - don‘t buy them at the book store or an online auction site).
The method of use is to write on paper and then placed on the head to receive
that which it is empowered with.
The Sator Square can be dated
as far back as the first century C.E. in Pompeii, Italy. It has been used by
many cultures & religions around the world as a magickal charm, including
the early Christian mystics. There are many who have thought that the SATOR Square
was of Christian origin due to the hidden anagram of “Pater Noster” (Our Father),
but research has shown it to greatly pre-date the Christian era and more
strongly apply to the ancient Sun God, Mithras.
This
charm protects the bearer from attacks of negative energies, misfortune and
illness and banishes evil from the home when hung on the wall. It brings
blessings, strength and power. The words in the square: SATOR, means “to
sow, create”; AREPO means “slow moving“; TENET means “to hold,
maintain”; OPERA means “work, creation”; ROTAS means “wheel,
vortices”.
The following poem makes it easier to remember, and can be recited as the SATOR Square is being drawn.
Sator the sower
Arepo the plow
Tenet the holder of magical vow
Opera opens the mystic gate
Rotas turns the Wheel of Fate
Arepo the plow
Tenet the holder of magical vow
Opera opens the mystic gate
Rotas turns the Wheel of Fate
So, a simple talisman to make that will provide unlimited protection for you, yours and all your property! Try it and see. I'm sure you'll notice a level of protected energy around you that you didn't have before. I know I do. I never have any fears of harm, being stolen from, serious accidents, etc. It's kind of like a nice warm blanket wrapped around me at all times.
Good luck with yours as well!
do it require a prayer or certain oil? or you just print it and paste it around?
ReplyDeleteI apologize for taking so long to respond to your question. We are having a family reunion and I have my whole family here, so have been quite busy this week.
ReplyDeleteAs for the answer to your question, no, there are no specific oils or prayers. It is a power unto it's own and a very strong protection just as it is. We are renovating an old one-room schoolhouse into our home and I have placed them on the walls before putting up the sheetrock, behind mirrors before they're put in place, and will be placed under each window & door sill (along with specific Seals of Solomon) before putting in the finished window & door sills.
The SATOR Square is easy enough that I know it by heart, so just write it out myself rather than printing it. But printing it is just a good. When I print out seals or sigils (such as the Seals of Solomon, for example), I watch as they're printed and concentrate on their purpose and read their accompanyingverse. This way they are consecrated to purpose and can be used immediately.
Hope that helps to answer your question.
Have a blessed day!
Where do we find the verse we must read?
ReplyDeleteAs you can see there is no verse. It is its own charm in and of itself. Just write it out as shown above.
ReplyDeleteGreat information! Thank you so much. I definitely recommend that anyone reading about these Squares should check out your link. The information is very useful and informative.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
I put up a SATOR square in the computer room one time many years ago and started noticing things going horribly wrong for me and for members of my family. Is it possible it can create evil happenings instead of good?
ReplyDeleteWhen a powerful protection is put into place, it must first clear the area of any negative. All of those things that were going wrong were the 'negative energies' being pushed out by the SATOR Square's powerful positive energies. Like a child who is told to go to bed but keeps getting up to get a drink of water or go potty or sneak and play with toys, those negative energies fight to stay in place. Given time, the SATOR Square will completely clear that out and the full protection is then in place. I have SATOR Squares on every surface in my home, and as we are renovating, I can place them under the sheetrock, on the subflooring prior to laying new flooring, behind mirrors before they're put in place, etc. Nothing can get into my home and whatever was prior, is now gone. Our place is an 84 yo large one-room brick parochial schoolhouse with the church next door. If there were any residual energies here, I removed them.
ReplyDeleteHope that helps to answer your question.
:)
Thank you. :)
DeleteHi, i was following every post of the SATOR SQUARE, I'd like to ask a question, it is said in some that the axis of SATOR Square TENET was CHRIST JESUS. Can you give me some insight about it.
ReplyDeleteThe reason this is thought to be a reference to Jesus Christ is because in the SATOR Square it forms the cross (center row horizontal and vertical). Another consideration is that all of the letters can be put together in a cross that reads horizontally and vertically, "PATERNOSTER," with the "N" being the central letter of each. The remaining "A's" and "O's" representing "Alpha" and "Omega".
DeleteHope that gives some answer to your question. :)
Blessings!
